City of Bayonne, New Jersey Chooses Avrio Group for City-Wide Surveillance System
Easton, Maryland-June 4, 2007- Avrio Group announced today that the City of Bayonne New Jersey, has selected Avrio Group to design and deploy a citywide mesh network and video surveillance solution which will be used for public safety. The solution uses an open and non-proprietary approach to incorporate wireless cameras from around the city. Video will be able to be viewed from anywhere on the city’s network – even from mobile police cruisers should the City choose that option in the future.
“Avrio Group was selected based on their design, price and past performance as well as conversations with their customers who were extremely pleased with Avrio’s solutions,” says Deputy Chief Niekrasz. “Bayonne is getting the state-of-the-art when it comes to high-end video surveillance systems. This system is extremely reliable and allows the city to easily relocate cameras as crime needs dictate.” says Mark Jules, President of Business Development for Avrio.
“We really like Avrio Group’s design because it allows us to easily add cameras and other new technologies in the future,” says Deputy Chief Niekrasz. The foundation of the system is Avrio Group’s Rapid Deployment (RD) POLECAM, a single “plug-and-play” device that contains a high end camera, a wireless mesh node and all components needed to hang the unit on a pole or building. The system also allows for integration with other systems such as video intelligence, license plate recognition and gun shot detection.
