Orlando Police utilizes Avrio Group’s Wireless Surveillance System for Enhanced Security at Race

Orlando, Florida-April 8, 2008-Avrio Group, a leader in city-wide IP video surveillance networks, announced today that their Rapid Deployment Surveillance Solution (RDSS) aided the Orlando Police Department in their public safety efforts during the Twelve Hours of Sebring Auto Race which draws over 170,000 attendees. RDSS is a software based solution that incorporates wired and wireless cameras and is capable of pushing video anywhere on a city’s network and real time to laptops in police cars. The solution also allows for integration with other security systems such as access control, gunshot detection and video intelligence. Avrio originally designed the RDSS when the City of Phoenix was facing a serial murderer and wanted a city-wide surveillance system that would allow them to collect video anywhere in the city. The Orlando Police Department was able to deploy the RDSS at the Sebring race in under a day and the solution provided uninterrupted surveillance throughout the event.

The foundation of RDSS is the Rapid Deployment Polecam, (PoleCam). The PoleCam is a single, portable unit housed in a weather-tight enclosure that contains a high end camera, wireless communications and all components required so that it can be easily deployed in various locations throughout the city as surveillance needs dictate.

Avrio Group is a national leader in IP-Surveillance solutions for the public safety market. The company designs, engineers and deploys the Rapid Deployment Surveillance System (RDSS) for city-wide municipal surveillance. Avrio Group customers include local, state and federal clients as well as enterprise commercial customers.
